How to Contribute to The Floyd Blog

The goal of Floyd Blog is to help you promote your business and services in turn by helping us to create and generate regular content. This means for a minimum of three articles (300 words) a month you will get free advertising on The Floyd Blog in the form of a200x200 pixel ad on the site sidebar. An even bigger bonus? One of the three articles can be about your business or service and all articles will link back to a website of your choice.

What kind of articles are we looking for? The Floyd Blog is looking for promotional and creative articles and editorials with clear photos.

Some examples of what we are looking for:

• Recipes or a cooking experience using local ingredients from farmers or products from the Harvest Moon, etc.
• A tour of the artisan market or farmer’s market.
• Trying out a new restaurant: create a review, the best thing to order, pricing etc.
• Putting together a gift basket using items from a local gallery such as The St. Pierre Gallery
• A weekend of things to do in Floyd
• Where to buy local chickens, how to join a co-op
• Exploring lesser-known business/restaurants in Floyd such as Dino’s, the Floyd museum, the Indian food at the bread basket etc.
• Your family history in Floyd
• A story about how you came to Floyd/heard about Floyd etc.
• Document an experience with a local handy-man, contractor, landscaper etc.
• Articles about gardening in Floyd
• Articles about classes in Floyd or your experience taking a class
• Event coverage, live event coverage and event planning (dates etc.)
• Interviews
• An article about “what’s new in Floyd” or “this week in Floyd”
• Concert or gallery coverage
• Documenting a local experience: trying out all the flavors at Country Creamery, the chef’s menu at
